James' Story 
I have had alot of questions regarding James so with alot of thinking I have
decided to write the story. This is the short version please remember there
is so much more to the story. But with hopes this will make you all understand
this complicated matter.

Many people ask me each and every day how I found James. Here is the story.:
I was married to a abusive man who abused me
both physically and emotionally. I was making my plan on how to escape, I just
didnt know what to do or where to turn.
I didn't want to rely on friends and cause them any undue stress and trouble..
Especially one very special friend, Maria.
I knew it was time to escape when one night Maria and her 13 yr old daughter
Tina came to my home.
After spending a few moments with my now ex husband, Tina was crying for me
to go with them and I did not go.
I stayed with my ex and we moved into an apartment.
After living there a few months a guy and his pregnant girlfriend moved upstairs.
The guys name, Eric. Both his now ex and my now ex husband had mental issues
and neither one would take their medicines.
Seemed when one was going off so was the other. Eric and I had many long talks
many nights. We were a shoulder for eachother to lean on.
His now ex girlfriend had their baby boy, James. That was the best mothers day
I ever had was seeing that little boy come home. He was born on May 12, 2006
the most beautiful little boy. I fell in love with him from day one.
Eric carried him into our apartment for us to see a very happy daddy. That night
Eric called me asked me if I could come upstairs the baby wouldnt stop cring
and that Laura, the babys mom wouldnt take care of him. Well, I thought new
mom, she didnt know what to do. But this got to be every night, every day. She
wouldnt feed him, very seldom change him, or do anything with him.
It was Eric and I taking care of this baby. Eric decided to leave her when the
baby was 2 weeks old. For reasons I would rather not get into he couldnt take
the baby at the moment. He came to ask me to watch out for the baby till he
could come back for him.
I agreed. It wasnt long after he left Laura comes to my apartment with the baby
and his belongings and just left him.
No return time nothing. Now mind you in between this time period I did not know
she was taking off in her car and leaving the baby upstairs alone. Many times
when the baby was in my care It got very late no signs of Laura.
She even brought his bassinet down to my apartment.
One night I put James to bed very late it was about 11 pm and here comes a knock
at my door it was the police.
Laura claimed her baby had 103 temp. and I wouldnt take care of him. I showed
the officer the baby and put him back to bed.
About a 1/2 hour later another knock on my door. A ambulance, a firetruck, and
2 police cars in front of my apartment.
The same police officer was at the door when I answered he asked me if Laura
had a mental condition I said "well, she has something." He informed
me the paramedic had to look at the baby to make sure he was ok and told me
he was taking Laura to the hospital for a evaluation and hopefully to be admited.
He let me know that DCFS was going to be called, I then asked him to let me
keep the baby at least till I reached the father he agreed. At 2 am or so ,
I recieve a call it was Laura asking me to come get her. I said "no I cannot
the officer has asked that I not allow you to see the baby till DCFS comes in
morning". I hung up and called the officer he or I either one couldnt believe
they released her but they did. A nurse gave her a ride home. What a nurse.
Next day DCFS called and agreed to place the
baby with me for temporary custody. I called Eric and he asked to see his baby.
Yes, Eric and I already had falling in love and yes things had already happened
between us.
I took James to see Eric with no intentions to stay.
On my way home I called a friend of mine and
she told me not to go home. I couldn't use my cell phone up till then , because
I was in a area that I couldnt get calls. My Friend tells me my ex husband was
threatening to kill himself, he was going off deep end and that there was cops
all over. I called Eric back after checking my messages 26 of them cussing me
out calling me every name in the book.
Eric had me turn around and come back. Friends of ours that don't live far from
the friends Eric was staying with kept James.
We were there every day till we made it safe so James could come stay with us
again. DCFS involved the whole time.
Only time we heard from Laura was when she wanted
to cause trouble or when she wanted to talk
to Eric and NEVER regarding James. One day she claimed she wanted to see James
and she agreed to sign temporary custody over to Eric. It was a partial setup
she signed the papers but she also wanted Eric.
She was running from guy to guy. One time while she was visiting James she was
cutting the baby's toenails he curled them like
all babys do and she slapped him. She was in the habit of going to bars offering
up sexual favors for beer or a place to stay for
the night.
The time came when weren't able to stay at the
friends home any longer. We were literally concidered homeless.
Thank God the friends that had James allowed us to stay with them till we got
our home we have now.
Eric fought and got full custody of James but gave Laura reasonable visitation.
Laura has gotten away with many things, here
is an example, she was yelling and screaming and found in the bathroom holding
the baby underwater.
I still dont know why this person never told the authorities! Eric went and
got an OP and won again.
After the emergency order he got the 2 year order. No contact what so ever from
Laura!
Since Laura has been arrested for breaking OP towards us , on another guy, drive
off of gas, theft numerous times.
Eric has even been fired for Laura breaking the OP and harassing him at work.
We know she uses drugs but no one has done drug tests. Her on psychiatrist has
said she will never be able to take care of a baby. She has been arrested in
a total of 4 counties and looking at prison time now.
Eric and I was married on March 17, 2007. We are now looking to terminate Lauras
rights and for me to adopt him.
DCFS says we have enough on her to do so the only problem is they only do it
for kids they are trying to place into homes.
James calls me mama only mommy he knows. We are presently tring to raise money
for James a attorney and to help with care for James. We have had a rough road
but we will continue to fight for James as well as other child abuse survivors.
I believe it should be two parents raising a child , but sometimes it does not
work that way .
I know people are falsely accused every day. When proof is there and hard proof
like we have then they have no right to a child. How many children have to die
before the world see this must stop?
Please remember this is short version of the story and please also realize I
am not one to get down and harsh on someone.
I may not use words to describe the abuse James went through like you see it.

Now what more proof is needed like I said these arent all of them these are only 3 counties there is 2 more counties that are known of.
